Staff said the current engineer estimate lists the project at about $17,400 and that the contract limit figure discussed was higher; the town may add a fourth region if bids allow. Council members noted the town is expecting county reimbursement that will cover available local funds for the project but cautioned that the timing of those funds remains uncertain.
The hearing will provide an opportunity for public comment on the plans, after which the council would consider awarding a construction contract consistent with state procurement and the town’s purchasing rules. The council opened the item as a consent-motion and set the hearing by voice vote.
