Jones said the current bid stood at $739,000 and he expected the final amount to come in under $700,000. Jones said the change order stems from additional archaeology work and recommended a preconstruction meeting that would include Xcel Energy and St. Paul Water.
Council member Golias moved to authorize the mayor to accept a bid up to $710,000; Council member Rasmussen seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 4-0. Jones said he will continue processing the change order, coordinate outreach to nearby residents to obtain any necessary waivers for temporary access, and schedule a preconstruction meeting with utilities and involved parties.
The council did not provide additional budget details at the meeting; City staff will report back when the contractor’s amended price is received.
