Broken Bow council approves blight studies and redevelopment plans for Areas 10 and 11; OKs lot split

The council opened a series of public hearings on redevelopment matters. At 6:03 p.m. the council heard a presentation from Bobbi Pettit, owner of Five Rule Planning, on the Blight Study for Proposed Redevelopment Area Number 10. After discussion, the council closed the hearing at 6:19 p.m. and approved the Blight Study for Area Number 10 on a 4-0 roll call vote (Schmidt, Miller, Myers, Baltz).
Immediately following, the council opened a hearing on the General Redevelopment Plan for Area Number 10. Pettit presented the plan; the hearing closed at 6:24 p.m., and the council approved the General Redevelopment Plan for Area Number 10 by unanimous roll call.
The council then considered redevelopment work for Area Number 11. A public hearing on the Blight Study for Area Number 11 began at 6:25 p.m.; Pettit presented findings, the hearing closed at 6:34 p.m., and the council approved the Blight Study for Area Number 11 on a 4-0 vote. The General Redevelopment Plan for Area Number 11 was presented and approved after a hearing that opened at 6:35 p.m. and closed at 6:37 p.m.
At 6:38 p.m. the council opened a public hearing on a lot split application filed by Michael R. Garner and Mary Jane Garner for property at 1131 North G Street. Zoning Administrator Dan Knoell told the council that both the Planning Commission and the City Administrator recommended approval. The hearing closed at 6:39 p.m., and the council approved Resolution 2022-7 authorizing the lot split on a 4-0 roll call vote.
Following those actions, Councilmember Chris Myers moved to adjourn; the council adjourned at 6:40 p.m. The meeting minutes were attested by Mayor Rod Sonnichsen and City Clerk Kandi K. Peters.
