Broken Bow delays Memorial Drive start to August; North 5th Street milling and overlay set to begin July 6

City Administrator Dan Knoell told the Broken Bow City Council on June 28 that the Memorial Drive Project is delayed because epoxy-coated rebar and other concrete supplies are taking longer to procure. "The delay is due to supply chain issues, that neither the City nor Myers Construction has any control over," Knoell said. He gave an earliest anticipated start of Aug. 1 and a worst-case start of Aug. 15; the estimated completion date remains Dec. 1, 2022.
Knoell also updated the council on the North 5th Street Project, saying Paulsen Inc. will begin work on July 6. The project scope listed in the minutes calls for three inches of milling and three inches of overlay.
The council did not take further action on either project during the meeting; the updates were informational. Residents and businesses affected by the Memorial Drive timing or North 5th Street work should consult posted city project notices and contact the city for traffic and access details.
