Broken Bow council approves $497,879.28 in bills, OKs airport interlocal agreement

The Broken Bow City Council met Aug. 9, 2022, at the Broken Bow Municipal Auditorium and approved its consent agenda, including payment of bills and payroll totaling $497,879.28. Council President David Schmidt called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., announced the availability of the open meetings law, and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The consent agenda — which included approval of the June 26, 2022 minutes and the posted bills — was moved by Councilmember Larry Miller and seconded by Councilmember David Baltz. The roll call vote recorded Miller, Baltz and Schmidt as voting aye; the motion carried unanimously with Councilmember Chris Myers listed as absent. The minutes list payment line items totaling $497,879.28, including Paulsen Inc. $189,442.44; City of Broken Bow Health Insurance $154,420.03; bi-weekly payroll $66,453.97; and multiple vendors and service providers as detailed in the official minutes.

Also on the consent agenda, the council approved an Interlocal Agreement between the City and the Broken Bow Airport Authority for the 2022–2023 budget year. That motion was likewise moved by Miller and seconded by Baltz and passed on a roll call vote with Miller, Baltz and Schmidt voting aye.

The meeting record notes that notice of the meeting was published in the Custer County Chief on Aug. 4, 2022, and that agenda materials had been shared in advance with the mayor and council members. The session concluded when Baltz moved — and Schmidt seconded — to adjourn; the council adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
