Haddonfield commissioners swear in new member, approve consent agenda and adopt mortgage-registration ordinance

Mayor Bianco Bezich called the Borough of Haddonfield Board of Commissioners to order at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and the Borough Clerk swore in newly elected Commissioner Dave Siedell.
The board approved Resolution 2024-11-25-163 authorizing the appointment of an Auxiliary Police officer; Mayor Bianco Bezich moved the resolution, Commissioner Troy seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The mayor then swore in Ryan Pratz as an auxiliary officer.
Commissioner Troy moved to waive the reading of prior minutes and approve the Sept. 23 and Oct. 7, 2024 meeting minutes. Mayor Bianco Bezich seconded; Commissioner Siedell abstained because he was not a commissioner at the time of those meetings. The remaining commissioners voted to approve.
During the business portion, the board adopted Ordinance 2024-11 (amending Chapter 176, Registration of Defaulted Mortgages) on second reading. Commissioner Troy and Mayor Bianco Bezich voted to adopt; Commissioner Siedell abstained for the same reason he had on prior minutes.
The commissioners then approved a consent agenda moved by Commissioner Troy and seconded by Commissioner Siedell. The package included a range of administrative and fiscal items recorded in the minutes as Resolutions 2024-11-25-164 through 2024-11-25-174, covering duties and authority for the Department of Revenue and Finance, budget transfers, voucher payments, issuance of overpayment checks, veteran tax-exemption cancellations, approval of general event permits, appointments of active fire department members, establishing a dedicated trust by rider for affordable housing (Fair Share Housing), disposition of surplus property via online auction, and final change order and release of the performance bond for Haddonfield Library front entrance repairs. Recorded votes on the consent items show 'Yes' votes by Commissioner Troy, Commissioner Siedell and Mayor Bianco Bezich where indicated.
The meeting went into closed session at 8:34 p.m. to discuss Bancroft negotiations and an informal focus group; the commissioners returned at 10:24 p.m., and the meeting adjourned. The minutes were signed by Deanna Bennett, RMC, Borough Clerk.
