The Borough of Haddonfield commissioners on Aug. 26 unanimously approved three ordinances on first reading — a capital ordinance, a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) ordinance related to The Place at Haddonfield, and an amendment to Chapter 198 on stormwater management — and scheduled public hearings and second readings for Sept. 23, 2024.
By motion and second (Commissioner Troy; Mayor Bianco Bezich), the commission approved a consent agenda covering multiple routine resolutions including authorization to pay vouchers, issuance of tax-overpayment checks, approval of general event permits, a street closure for a Partnership for Haddonfield Halloween Night Market, approval of Fire Department active members and an amendment to the solid-waste and recyclable-materials collection contract with Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc. Each consent-item vote was recorded as Commissioner Troy and Mayor Bianco Bezich voting 'Yes.'
Separately approved resolutions included authorization to sign a PILOT agreement with Community Investment Strategies, Inc. for The Place at Haddonfield; a shared-services agreement with the Haddonfield Board of Education for a Municipal Alliance Coordinator; and authorizations to advertise for proposals or sealed bids for EMS-billing services and hazardous-material removal at Cooley Hall. The commission later added and approved Resolution #134 to apply to Camden County for an open-space-preservation grant for roughly 4.85–5.00 acres (Block 14, Lot 2).
