Northfield council authorizes collective bargaining agreements for public employees through 2027

The Village of Northfield council entered executive session on Feb. 12 to review the results of bargaining sessions with public employees under Ohio law (O.R.C. §121.22(G)(4)). After returning to open session, council voted unanimously to authorize the Mayor to execute new collective bargaining agreements.
Council authorized an agreement with Local Lodge 439, District Lodge 54, International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers for the term Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2027, consistent with a tentative agreement dated February 2025. Council also authorized new agreements with the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (OPBA) covering the patrol officers and sergeants, and a separate agreement for the lieutenant, for the same contract term. Both motions were moved and seconded and passed by unanimous roll-call votes.
The minutes record the executive-session motion to convene under O.R.C. Section 121.22(G)(4) and note that the executive session included the mayor, council, the law director, and labor counsel.
