Webb council adopts county hazard mitigation plan, approves bills and park contracts

The Webb City Council on April 14 adopted Resolution 06-2025, formally adopting the Clay County Hazard Mitigation Plan. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Council member Hansen and seconded by Council member Gibson; roll call votes were recorded as Ganzevoort—Aye, Gibson—Aye, Hansen—Aye and the motion carried.
During routine business the council reviewed and authorized payment of April bills totaling $5,025.23. The bills list included payroll and vendor payments (examples shown in the meeting record: Alliant Energy, Sylvester Enterprises, Grow's Garbage, Premier Communications). The clerk also reported March receipts totaling $5,320.81.
The council approved two park-service contracts: it approved quotes from Tiger Pride Lawn Care for lawn care and weed control at city parks (motion by Gibson, seconded by Ganzevoort; all present voted aye) and approved Jason Hart’s bid to mow city parks for the year (motion by Ganzevoort, seconded by Gibson; all present voted aye).
The council recorded a drainage inspection report from Aaron Rutter, who examined water at 5th and Forrest and determined the issue was a private resident matter rather than a county main-tile or city responsibility; the clerk will send a letter to the resident explaining that determination. The meeting concluded after the council discussed logistics for a proposed citywide clean-up day and then adjourned.
