The Webb City Council on April 14 adopted the municipal budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and certified city taxes for the coming year. Council member Gibson moved to adopt Resolution 07-2025, "Adopting the Annual Budget and Certification of City Taxes for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2026," and Council member Ganzevoort seconded the motion. Roll call votes were recorded as Ganzevoort—Aye, Gibson—Aye, Hansen—Aye; the motion carried.
City Clerk Angie Smith reviewed the proposed budget at an open public hearing that began at 7:00 p.m. and closed at 7:05 p.m. Clerk Smith told the council there were no written objections to the budget during the hearing. Mayor ProTem Cavon Riley opened the hearing and presided over initial proceedings.
The adoption finalizes the council’s tax certification and budget document for the fiscal year listed in the resolution (07/01/2025–06/30/2026). The council did not record any public objections at the hearing and voted to approve the resolution during the April 14 meeting.
Other routine financial items were handled during the same meeting, including approval of March minutes and treasurer’s reports and authorization to pay the bills presented (those matters were approved by voice vote earlier in the meeting). The council adjourned following completion of agenda business.
