Wapsie Valley board reappoints Wolfe president, names Auel vice president and confirms administrative officers

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Wapsie Valley CSD board unanimously elected Jeannie Wolfe president and Angie Auel vice president for 2024–25, appointed Kim Arndt as secretary/treasurer and approved routine administrative items including legal counsel, depositories and investigator designations.
Jeannie Wolfe was elected board president and Angie Auel was elected vice president at the Wapsie Valley Community School District’s annual organizational meeting on Dec. 16, 2024.
Board Secretary Kim Arndt opened the organizational session and took nominations; Sauerbrei nominated Wolfe for president and Wolfe nominated Auel for vice president. Both appointments were approved by roll-call vote with all four voting members recorded as aye. Arndt administered the oath of office to Jeannie Wolfe; the oath for Angie Auel is scheduled to be administered by the board secretary within 10 days.
The board appointed Kim Arndt as Board Secretary and Treasurer for the 2024–25 school year (motion carried 4-0) and approved district publication outlets for official notices: the Readlyn Chronicle and Fairbank Islander for minutes and the Waterloo Courier for budget publication. The board named Ahlers & Cooney, P.C. as legal counsel for the year and designated Northeast Security Bank (limit $5,000,000) and Readlyn Savings Bank (limit $2,000,000) as district depositories; both votes carried 4-0.
The board also approved investigator designations for complaints and incidents: Level I investigator to be the guidance counselor or lead teacher; Level II investigator to be the building principal not involved with the incident; and Level III investigator to be the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Fairbank Police Department, or Readlyn Police Department (4-0). Liaisons were set as Brett Bergman for homeless services, Superintendent Hoover as equity coordinator, and Katelyn Nitz as migrant liaison and foster care contact.
The organizational meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.; the regular meeting then convened.
