On Aug. 5, 2024, the Wapsie Valley Comm School District Special School Board voted 3-1 to accept a $35,000 counteroffer from Erwin and Laura Gingerich to purchase the district's Rural #3 building, requiring the buyers to pay to remove the building's electric and to have the septic system inspected.
The motion to approve the Proposal to Sell Rural #3 Building Resolution was moved by Director Sauerbrei and seconded by Director Kaufman. Kaufman, Sauerbrei and President Wolfe voted Aye; Director Aiello voted Nay, and the motion carried 3-1.
Earlier in the meeting the board unanimously approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Director Sauerbrei, seconded by Director Kaufman. After approving the sale resolution, Director Kaufman moved and Director Sauerbrei seconded a motion to set the Notice of Public Hearing on the proposal to sell Rural School #3 Building “as presented”; the motion passed on a roll call of all Ayes (4-0). The minutes do not specify the date of the public hearing.
Under Other Business the board recorded that the August 19, 2024 regular meeting will be moved to August 20, 2024. Director Sauerbrei moved and Director Aiello seconded to adjourn at 6:08 p.m.; that motion carried 4-0.
Board officials present at the special meeting were President Wolfe and Directors Aiello, Kaufman and Sauerbrei; Director Auel was excused. Administrator Chris Hoover and Board Secretary Kim Arndt were also listed as present in the minutes. The minutes were submitted by Board Secretary Kim Arndt.
