Commission approves one county vehicle, delays sheriff and EMA purchases pending SPLOST outcome

Commissioners said the decision preserves a vehicle the county could otherwise lose while deferring more costly replacement decisions until there is clarity on SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) revenue. The motion passed unanimously.
Why it matters: Fleet purchases are a frequent budget pressure for small counties. Commissioners said delaying purchases for sheriff and EMA gives the county time to determine whether SPLOST revenue will be available and avoids committing to multiple replacements in one budget cycle.
