The Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County unanimously approved several appointments and resolutions at its Oct. 1 meeting.
The commission reappointed James Wiehe to Post 5 of the Board of Tax Assessors and Ken Vanhorn to Post 4, each for terms expiring Dec. 1, 2028. Both reappointments were approved by unanimous vote and memorialized in formal resolutions.
The commission also approved a resolution appointing County Manager Thomas Weaver to the Two Rivers Regional Commission to fill a vacancy through Dec. 31, 2025.
Additionally, commissioners voted to reschedule the regular November meeting to Nov. 12 at 9:00 a.m.
Why it matters: Board of Tax Assessors appointments affect who hears valuation appeals and oversees local property-assessment administration; the Two Rivers nomination provides county representation on a regional planning body.
What happens next: The reappointments and the Two Rivers appointment are effective as stated in the adopted resolutions; the commission will meet on Nov. 12 as rescheduled to continue regular business.
