Board members discussed the writeoffs in the context of the wastewater utility’s overall billing. One board member asked for approximate annual billing for the wastewater treatment plant; staff provided a monthly figure that the board multiplied into an annual estimate of roughly $4–4.8 million. A board member observed that $15,542.33 over two years represents only a very small fraction of that total. "That's pretty good," a board member said, noting the writeoffs’ limited fiscal impact, while also urging staff to continue collection efforts.
The board moved, seconded and voted to approve the writeoffs. Staff signed the paperwork during the meeting and the board closed the item.
