She said the new capital improvement fund is a competitive 1:1 matching grant program open to all entities, giving preference to larger projects with greater tourism impact and offering awards between $10,000 and $75,000 per project. Lubbers noted the program kicked off July 1, 2024 and applications are due in September.
No awards were announced at the meeting; commissioners acknowledged the program and accepted her report.
