Commissioners repeal vehicle transfer, terminate 457(b) plan and approve health-department work; Amazon credit limit raised 2–1

The Dubois County Board of Commissioners approved a package of resolutions, purchases and administrative changes during its July 15 meeting in Jasper.
County Attorney Gregory Schnarr presented Resolution 2024-11 to repeal Resolution 2024-09 (which had declared a 2019 Dodge Charger surplus and intended for transfer to Scott County). The board voted unanimously to repeal the prior authorization and to keep the 2019 Dodge Charger (VIN: 2C3CDXKT1KH617668) on Dubois County’s inventory.
Human Resource Generalist Markie Rhodes presented Resolution 2024-10 to terminate the county's Corebridge 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan #654100001 effective July 15, 2024; that motion passed unanimously.
Health Administrative Director Shawn Werner brought multiple items for the Health Department. The board approved a $7,000 change order for remodel work in the department's 911 area funded by the Cooperative Agreement School Crisis Grant. Commissioners also approved purchase of two security panic buttons at a total cost of $175 and a Secura-key door access controller from Astro Security at $3,175; Werner was authorized to sign the quotes and change order, with costs to be paid from the St. Charles Annex Maintenance Fund.
Auditor Sandra L. Morton sought to raise the county’s Amazon credit limit. The board approved increasing the credit limit to $16,000 (allocated $8,000 for county use and $8,000 for Health Department use). Commissioner Nick Hostetter recorded the dissenting vote, and the motion passed 2–1.
Also approved unanimously were a mail-room fax purchase not to exceed $1,000 using LATCF funds and the authorization of other routine items recorded in the Claims Docket.
The board did not identify specific movers or seconders for the motions in the minutes. Where a funding or policy change was contingent on additional approvals (for example, capital appropriations), the minutes note those items remain subject to County Council action.
