Alderman Bill Durrence moved and Alderman Brian Foster seconded a motion to recess the Savannah City Council work session into a closed executive session to discuss personnel, real estate and litigation. The motion carried unanimously and the executive session began at 12:12 p.m.; the closed meeting ended at 12:18 p.m. with no action taken, according to the workshop minutes.
The minutes record that several members were absent for the executive session: Alderman Van R. Johnson II, Alderman John Hall and Alderwoman Dr. Estella E. Shabazz were noted as not present during the closed session. The motion to recess and the attendance during the executive session are recorded in the official minutes; no votes, appointments or formal decisions resulted from the closed session itself.
Following the lunch break and the executive session, the council reviewed the agenda and the work session adjourned at 1:55 p.m. The minutes were later finalized and signed by Clerk of Council Mark Massey.
