City leaders discussed a proposed purchase of a new aerial fire truck at the April 15 City of Decatur Common Council meeting. The Board of Public Works and Safety had previously considered the purchase earlier the same evening.
Mayor Dan Rickord noted that a down payment could be funded from LIT–Public Safety funds but that more detailed figures would be available after the Indiana state budget is adopted; the mayor said additional details should be available at the council’s May 6 meeting. The council did not take a formal vote on the purchase during the April 15 meeting.
The minutes record the discussion as informational and schedule the matter for further consideration once state budget figures are final.
