Darmstadt reports year-to-date general fund and sewer deficits; 20 sewer liens sent to county

Clerk-Treasurer Mallory Lowe reported detailed fiscal figures at the Darmstadt Town Council meeting on Dec. 17.
Lowe said the town received $26,659 in tax revenues in November and spent $15,066. Year-to-date the general fund has received $473,000 and spent $555,000, a shortfall of $82,000. For the town’s Sewer Utility Lowe said November sewer revenue was $54,799.25 and sewer expenditures were $73,332.08; year-to-date the sewer department received $667,000 and spent $800,000, a shortfall of $133,000.
Lowe said she sent 20 overdue sewer liens to the county for recording and that the county auditor’s office will add those overdue sewer account balances to affected property tax bills this spring. She also reported attending Keystone Software Webinar Training and that the town is working with Old National Bank and its software vendor to implement autopay (ACH) for sewer billing; the website designer is adding an enrollment form.
Lowe added that three homes have been purchased in town since the prior month and that two of those properties appear to be under construction. She said the Department of Local Government Finance has approved the town's full budget for 2025.
The council received the report as part of routine business; no specific budget amendments were proposed at the meeting.
