Dayton opens pavement-preservation bids, tables decision; approves OCRA utility master-plan contract

The Dayton Town Council opened bids and took action on several infrastructure contracts at its Jan. 21 meeting.
Attorney Patrick Jones opened four bids for the CCMG 2024-2 pavement preservation project. The bids read into the record were: Pavement Solutions Inc. ($8,494.20), DC Construction Inc. ($507,287.39), Milestone Contractors ($614,668.50), and Reith Riley ($589,935.40). Colin with BF&S said staff would tabulate bids and return next month with a recommendation; the council voted to table the bids to allow staff time to verify bids and prepare a recommendation.
The council also approved a professional services contract with BF&S for a Utility Master Plan study tied to an OCRA grant; Colin stated the study would be completed by the end of November (completion year as stated in the contract discussion). Separately, Buhrmester noted a typographical issue in the Priority Project Resources Inc. contract where the amount listed as $6,800 was struck to reflect the correct payment of $6,000; the council approved the corrected $6,000 contract.
Council members instructed staff to prepare a bid tabulation and bring back a formal recommendation on the CCMG pavement-preservation bids at the next meeting.
