Unsafe Building Hearing moves multiple properties to observation, removes others and tables several items until October

President Bobby Mosier opened the Crothersville Unsafe Building Hearing on Sept. 18, 2025, and the board unanimously approved the agenda and the Aug. 21 meeting minutes. Member Ron Foster seconded both motions and the board recorded each approval as carrying 2-0.
The board then addressed a long list of properties. On motions by President Bobby Mosier, seconded by Member Ron Foster, the hearing voted 2-0 to move the following to "observation only": 301 E Walnut Street, 205 W Bard Street, 6350 S County Rd 1025 E, unit #4 at 400 S Kovener Street, and 11242 E County Rd 600 S. The board also removed 218 West Street and 300 W Howard Street from the unsafe-properties list after abatements were reported to be complete; both removals carried 2-0.
Several items were tabled for further consideration at the October meeting: 511 Seymour Rd, 200 S Dismore, 147 N East Street, and 106 N Preston Street. Each motion to table was made by Bobby Mosier, seconded by Ron Foster and approved 2-0.
The board discussed arranging an inspection of 121 E Howard Street and noted plans to enter and photograph 208 Dixon Street; board members stated a court order is in place to permit entry for assessment. The hearing also authorized a second letter to the owner of 607 E Bard Street and approved having a letter served by police to residents of 307 Park Ave; both measures passed 2-0.
