Board tables three road‑project bids and approves surplus of older street equipment

The Board of Public Works and Public Safety paused action on three separate road projects and approved the Street Department's request to surplus older equipment.
On old business the board reviewed bids for the 2026‑1 Community Crossings Paving (bids received Jan. 14, 2026), the South Elm Street Project (bids received Jan. 7, 2026) and the Purple Heart Parkway Field Drain and drainage‑ditch reroute (bids received Jan. 7, 2026). These items had been tabled at prior meetings and, on motion by Mayor Todd Barton with a second from Erin Corbin, were tabled again.
The board also approved surplusing three Street Department items: a 2001 Ford F‑350 dually (VIN 1FDWF36F7EC24081), estimated value $2,500, to be sent to auction; a 2012 Bobcat 3400 UTV (serial AJNT21085), estimated value $450, to be scrapped; and a 2012 Farmstar SBX6 grader box (VIN SB6110801709), estimated $75, to be scrapped. Susan Albrecht moved to approve the surplus list; Erin Corbin seconded and the motion passed.
Tabled bids will return to a future agenda for further consideration; the minutes do not list a new date for reconsideration.
