The Haverhill City Council announced on Dec. 16 that it will accept applications for a position to manage shelter-house rentals and cleaning. Interviews are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.; applicants were instructed to request a full job description by emailing cityofhaverhill.ia@gmail.com. Council member Maggie Stalzer was named interim manager of shelter-house rentals and cleaning until a permanent hire is made.
Mayor Madaleine Welton also told residents that when temperatures drop below 32°F, the scheduled siren tests on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. will not be audible, though the tests will continue to run silently at the call center.
The meeting record does not include the job description or pay rate for the shelter-house position; those details are to be provided on request via the posted email address. The interview schedule is part of the council’s procedural steps to fill the role; no formal vote on hiring was recorded at the Dec. 16 meeting.
