Destiny Church to lease space to Digitech Academy, a K–8 public charter school approved to start K–2 in 2027

Apostle Rhonda Pedigrew said Destiny Church has agreed to lease a building to a new public charter school called Digitech Academy, which has received district approval to operate K–8 and will begin a phased rollout with K–2 in the 2027 school year.

"Digitech Academy...we are approved for K through 8 through the district and we're taking a zero year," Pedigrew said. She described a phased rollout that will add grades each year after the initial K–2 cohort. Pedigrew said the school will provide a one-to-one technology ratio for students as part of a curriculum focused on digital skills while maintaining standard academic foundations and that the Jackson-Madison County School System has endorsed the plan.

Pedigrew also said Destiny Church purchased the property in December and will lease part of the site to the charter operator; initial operations will use the church's facilities while the school grows its enrollment. She characterized the arrangement as a public charter school working in cooperation with the district and funded through state formulas for public charter schools.

Pedigrew invited interested families to follow Destiny Church's channels for updates and said the school is planning an initial intake in August of 2027 for K–2 students.
