The Hoyt Lakes City Council voted Nov. 12 to accept several routine items on its agenda, including state bonding for arena repairs and a multi-year contract with Fisherman's Point.
On a resolution required to accept state bonding, staff summarized the arena project scope — repaving the parking lot and sidewalks, replacing the ice plant and floor with an ammonia system, upgrading lighting and bleachers, adding a lift and installing new doorways — and stated the city received $1.75 million in bonding. The council moved, seconded and carried the resolution.
Council also discussed and approved a preliminary multi-year contract with Fisherman's Point; staff said the contract represents an increase from the previous contract and is funded from revenue generated at the point and committed reserves. A motion to approve was made, seconded and carried.
Other items the council approved on Nov. 12 included an appointment to the library board (term beginning Jan. 1, 2025), acceptance of a two‑week resignation notice from an ambulance employee, and approval of 2025 liquor-license applications pending submission of required documents. The council additionally approved a resolution setting wages for part‑time, temporary and seasonal employees for 2025.
