Lower Gwynedd celebrates police reaccreditation; Officer Brianna Knowles sworn in

Lower Gwynedd supervisors used part of the June 23 meeting to recognize the township police department’s reaccreditation and to swear in a new officer.
Chief Paul Kenny introduced visiting Chief Lee Benson of the West Whiteling Police Department, who had been part of a regional accreditation assessment team. Benson praised Lower Gwynedd’s internal accreditation work and singled out accreditation manager Tim Evard for his sustained effort. “Lower Gwynedd has been accredited since 2017,” Benson said, noting the ongoing effort required to maintain standards.
Chief Kenny then called forward Officer Brianna Knowles for the swearing‑in. Judge Leonard administered the oath; Knowles recited: “I, Brianna Knowles, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the ordinances and regulations of Lower Gwynedd Township… I will discharge the duties of officer of Lower Gwynedd Township with fidelity.” Supervisors and staff thanked officers and recognized the department’s work on accreditation.
