Summary
The San Dimas 2026 Committee presented a full‑day July 3 schedule: classic car display, student art exhibit, Marine Band and fife & drum performances, a headliner band and a 400‑drone LED show to cap the evening; organizers urged use of transit and warned of short street closures during the drone finale.

Doran Barnes, chair of the San Dimas 2026 Committee, told the City Council on June 23 that the city’s July 3, 2026 event will combine the city’s 66th birthday with the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and that the Civic Center complex will be active from 4:00 p.m. through the evening.
Barnes said the program will open at 4 p.m. with a classic car display on Iglesia Street, two farmers’ markets that week and a student art exhibition with more than 350 pieces. "We have a day that is going to be, you know, once in 250 years for San Dimas," he said.
The schedule calls for a Marine Band concert at 4:30 p.m., a mountain fife and drum corps at 5:30 p.m., an opening ceremony with flag presentation and dignitary introductions at 6 p.m., and a headliner set by The Wrecking Crew beginning at 7 p.m. Cupcakes will be distributed at intermission about 8 p.m., and the night will conclude just after 9 p.m. with a 400‑drone LED show staged over the senior center and city hall.
Organizers noted key attractions and partners: a vintage plane flyover (Barnes said 3–5 planes were expected), sponsorship support from local businesses and community members, and contributions from agencies including Foothill Transit. Barnes thanked major sponsors and volunteers, saying their support "created the foundation for making all of this happen."
City staff and committee members urged visitors to arrive early and consider transit: Foothill Transit Line 492 and the A Line will run that day, and organizers recommended off‑site parking with shuttle options if demand requires. Officials warned that Bonita and Walnut streets would be closed briefly during the drone show.
Parks and Recreation Director Scott Wasserman confirmed logistics and the consolidated schedule, noting the concert in the park and farmers’ market normally held on Wednesday will instead take place Friday, July 3 to align with the celebration.
The presentation closed with committee appreciation for volunteers and a request for public cooperation with traffic and safety measures during the event. The council moved on to other items after questions about parking and transit plans were raised.
