Representative for Cous Valley Credit Union urges rezoning to allow physician's office

"We've got it under contract with a physicians group that want to put a doctor's office in here and they've already kind of redone their floor plan," Carlton said, identifying himself and spelling his name for the record. He said Cous Valley acquired the property via merger and built a new facility elsewhere, leaving the former building available for lease to the medical group.
Mr. Stokes presented Ordinance 2025-40 — a first reading to amend the zoning of tax parcel 0003F055 from C1 to C2 — and the council heard the public testimony. Carlton described the site's location near the post office and said the C2 zoning would allow the proposed medical use. The ordinance will return for further readings and formal council action; staff noted standard public-notice and hearing procedures would apply before final adoption.
No opposition speakers appeared during the hearing. Councilmembers did not take a final vote on the ordinance at this meeting; subsequent readings and notices are required before any rezoning takes effect.
