The Hugo City Council on Aug. 5 approved a 19-item consent agenda that included personnel actions, appointments, permitting and development approvals.
City staff summarized the consent items after the council approved the package by voice vote. Items approved included annual performance reviews for several public-works staff, hiring of a seasonal public-works employee and the appointment of Andrew Redding to the parks commission and Victor Shevchuk to the Economic Development Authority. The council also accepted a donation to the Hugo Fire Department from Thomas Lowenberg.
On development matters, the council approved a planned-unit-development amendment, site plan, preliminary plat, final plat and a development agreement for the Oneka Fields Apartments project. Council approved an ordinance amendment for egress windows, an updated CDBG/home program agreement with Washington County, and resolutions approving encroachment agreements for two private properties (5910 Freeland Court North and 15510 Goodview Trail North). The council also authorized the sale of surplus public-works and fire-department equipment at online auction.
City staff closed the summary by noting the council approved the hiring of Phoebe Brown as a community development intern (consent item added to the agenda earlier).
