Resident urges support for Kindering’s human‑services grant

She also cited the Families in Transition program, saying 88% of children in that program made measurable progress toward developmental goals.
Wallace described how Kindering’s child‑care and preschool consultation program partners with local early‑learning providers, helps reduce preschool expulsions among children with disabilities and children of color, and provides family supports such as developmental evaluation and infant mental‑health services. She said her youngest child currently receives services and credited Kindering staff with practical support, from therapy referrals to holiday assistance.
Commissioners heard Wallace’s remarks during the public‑comment period. No formal action occurred during the comment; staff will record public input for inclusion in the commission’s grant deliberations.
