The Hobart City board amended its agenda to add a late film‑shoot request and to reorder unfinished and new business, then approved several routine items including downtown vendor contract renewals and a design agreement for 2026 street work.
Staff read a list of vendors recommended for contract renewal through Oct. 31 (including Burkhos Bari Grill, Cafe 339, Montego Bay Grill, Rangers at the Clock Tower, Sip Coffee House and Farmhouse Coffee) and the board approved the renewals by voice vote. The board also approved a recommendation to engage 1st Group of Engineers for design and bid‑document preparation for $43,000 so the city can proceed with the CCMG package when grant funding is available.
The board approved a late film shoot downtown and instructed the applicant to coordinate with the police department; the film shoot was scheduled for March 22–25 and will use sidewalks and allow passing pedestrians. The board also considered an unsafe‑building order for 312 North Canton Street. Staff reported the new owner had a building permit but work was under a stop‑work order because of contractor/plumbing delays; the board voted to set that matter over to the April 1 meeting to allow the owner to show substantial compliance.
Separately, the board consolidated 14 appeals of plan‑commission decisions for the Board of Works to determine on the 18th; staff will provide written determinations to petitioners after that meeting. Routine motions and claims approvals were passed by voice vote during the session.
