Lincoln Board unanimously congratulates Megan Little on 2026 School Nurse Administrator award

The Lincoln Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution congratulating Megan Little, Lincoln Public Schools health services coordinator, after she was named the 2026 School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Nebraska School Nurses Association.
The resolution, read and signed by President Pius Sroka and Dr. John Skretta, cited Little's leadership in building training courses, professional learning sessions and mentorship for health services staff across the district, the state and nationally. After the reading, the board and attendees applauded.
Megan Little accepted the recognition and thanked district leaders and colleagues, saying, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." She credited her director, Wendy Row, for the nomination and singled out colleague Sarah Stoner for her daily support. Little also said the passion for school nursing in Lincoln Public Schools runs deep and urged the group to "Do what is best for kids." She closed her remarks by thanking her family, including her husband, Ben.
An attendee who identified themself as a public health physician praised Lincoln Public Schools' nursing work during the pandemic, saying the district "navigated a really tough pandemic, came out better than most" and credited the health services team for vaccination tracking that could help the community avoid a measles outbreak.
Board member Mara moved to adopt the resolution; Annie seconded the motion. Laura called the roll; Mrs. Krupelovic, Ms. Baumgarten, Dr. Browner, Ms. Beyer, Mr. Goodwin and Mr. Shrivastava each voted "Yes," and the resolution was adopted.
The board's action formally recognizes Little's award and the district said it values the contributions of its health services team. No further board action on the matter was taken at the meeting.
