Chilton County staff present opioid‑funding policy for commission approval

She emphasized that opioid‑settlement funds are tightly restricted and that proposed uses — for example, programs at the jail — must be described in detail to show the percentage of allowable use.
Singleton said the policy came from a county that had already tailored language for clear administration and recommended Chilton County adopt a similar structure so that staff and outside applicants understand the strict rules attached to the funds. Commissioners asked for time to review the two‑page policy included in the packet; no formal vote was recorded at the work session.
Next steps: staff requested commissioners approve the policy unless they had changes; the item will return on the regular agenda for possible formal action.
