Underwood council sets public hearings for ambulance loan and budget amendment; approves sewer transfer and consent claims

The Underwood City Council on Sept. 17 set public hearings for a proposed ambulance acquisition loan and for a budget amendment, approved monthly sewer fund transfers and accepted the consent agenda that included claims and payroll.
Council approved Resolution 24-09-02 to set a public hearing on Oct. 8, 2024, at 6 p.m. to consider entering into a General Obligation Ambulance Acquisition Loan Agreement to borrow in a principal amount not to exceed $325,000 (motion by Jim Pingel, second by Josh Madsen).
The council also approved Resolution 24-09-03 to set the public hearing date for Budget Amendment #1 for fiscal year 2025 (motion by Pingel, second by JW Tiarks).
Separately, council adopted Resolution 24-09-04 authorizing monthly transfers from sewer funds to the sewer sinking fund for FY2025 (motion by Madsen, second by Tiarks).
The consent agenda and claims were approved after removing one Nonpareil item. The minutes list vendor claims and totals; the meeting record shows a sub-total of $55,373.16 plus payroll of $18,972.17 for a total of $74,345.33. The ledger of fund expenses and revenue for August 2024 was also presented.
These items were adopted by recorded motions and roll-call votes where indicated. The public hearings are intended to provide a forum for comment before any borrowing or budget amendment is finalized.
