Titonka council adopts ordinances to end recreation commission, rezones property and approves water project payment

The Titonka City Council on Feb. 13 voted to discontinue the city's Recreation Commission, adopted a rezoning ordinance moving a parcel from R-1 (single-family residential) to C-1 (commercial), and approved routine financial actions including a pay application for the water-system improvements project and a FY2025 budget amendment.
Mayor David LaGue presided over the meeting. Council member Mike Etherington introduced the ordinance to discontinue the Recreation Commission and moved its adoption; Council member Sara Hamilton seconded. After the council suspended the statutory two-meeting requirement for ordinances, the final passage was approved on a roll call vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Mike Fredrickson).

On financial matters the council adopted a resolution approving Pay Application No. 17 to Woodruff Construction for the Titonka Water System Improvements Project (roll call 4-0, 1 absent) and approved Budget Amendment (2) for FY2025 (roll call 4-0, 1 absent).
