The Rose Creek City Council on July 1 unanimously adopted the "RESOLUTION ADOPTING DATA PRACTICES POLICY AND DESIGNATING RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITY AND COMPLIANCE OFFICIAL," Council Member Mark Conradt moved and Council Member Wendel Sprung seconded, and the roll call vote was 5–0 in favor (Mayor Barbara Greenlee and Council Members Mark Conradt, Wendel Sprung, Andrew Felten and Tom Lewison).
The council approved several maintenance contracts and purchases tied to post-storm work and routine upkeep. Public Works reported a quote of $11,888 from Tony Martin of Blackstone for street repair; Council Member Lewison moved to approve the $11,888 repair and Council Member Felten seconded the motion, which the mayor approved. The council did not approve the separately quoted $62,868 Wayside Park parking-lot estimate at this meeting; that figure was reported as a quote only.
The council accepted a $650 quote from JD Driver to repair vandalism on the concession-stand door and approved purchase of a replacement push mower (vendor: Ulven Power Sports; price described in the meeting as around $400). Council members also authorized hiring a contractor for the real-estate selling inspection of the city’s water and wastewater systems and authorized Adams City Workers to perform camera inspection work as part of that process.
City Clerk/Treasurer Kristine Allas reported the city has submitted several insurance claims tied to the June 22 storm. Simplified Technology supplied a replacement printer and Advance Electronics repaired an air conditioner; both invoices were submitted to insurance. The lift-station pump repair was completed and a new pump and hoses have been ordered and will be turned into insurance.
Council Member Sprung moved and Council Member Lewison seconded a motion to post for part-time website help to assist the clerk; that motion carried. The council also approved routine meeting housekeeping: agenda and minutes approvals and acceptance of the Emergency Special Meeting minutes of June 22 (with an addition noting Council Member Conradt attended by phone).
The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
