Board advances 2025 preliminary budget, approves advertisement and tax‑for‑open‑space ordinances

The East Whiteland Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the township’s 2025 preliminary budget on Nov. 13 and authorized advertising for final approval. Finance Director Dave Grady presented the preliminary budget and the Board voted to move it forward for public review and formal adoption steps.
The Board also approved motions to advertise two draft ordinances related to funding open space: Ordinance 364‑2024 (an earned‑income tax for open‑space purposes) and Ordinance 363‑2024 (a real‑estate tax for open‑space purposes). Both measures were approved for advertisement unanimously. Chair Lambert reported the recently completed open‑space referendum results during the meeting.
Other actions on the consent agenda included authorization to advertise surplus truck #320 (a 2012 F‑550) for sale on Municibid and approvals of consultant proposals for environmental and surveying services related to Springridge/Balderston properties (TerraPhase $7,500; ARRO Consulting $7,100). The Board ratified payment of bills totaling $1,887,320.74.
Board members thanked Finance Director Grady; Member Fixler notably praised Grady’s quick work on the budget presentation. No public objections to the preliminary advertising motions were recorded at the meeting.
