Township to advertise MS4 pollutant‑reduction plan; consultants say work must begin by June

Township staff and consultants presented the East Whiteland MS4 Pollutant Reduction Plan during the Feb. 12 meeting and the Board authorized advertising the PRP project.
Catherine Ricardo, assistant township manager, briefed the board and consultants Ed Van Arsdale and Jeb Rosenberger walked through the project scope, which focuses on stream restoration and other stormwater measures to meet the township’s five‑year permit obligations under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Presenters stated the project must be started by June to comply with permit mandates.
Ricardo noted the PRP presentation is part of the township’s annual permit requirement and that staff will continue public reporting and permit compliance tracking as the project moves toward procurement and implementation. The board voted to authorize advertisement of the PRP scope so design and bidding can proceed.
