The board voted to prohibit tobacco use in township recreational areas, parks and playgrounds after a brief hearing; Solicitor Bernadette Kearney opened and closed the hearing before the vote. The board also adopted an amendment to township code establishing an Open Space Committee to review potential acquisitions and conduct open-space planning.
The actions came amid a series of administrative approvals: appointment of Kent Kingan to the Malvern Public Library Committee, Erin Tedesco and Christopher Savidge to the Park and Recreation Board, and approval of a budgeted replacement vehicle (a 2023 Chevy Silverado with an upfit of $31,083.15). The board also authorized a geotechnical study of a sinkhole on Flat Road with costs capped at $50,000.
Officials approved advertisement of the township’s 2025 paving project and authorized listing a 2014 F‑550 (value shown $60,200) and a 2018 Ford Taurus for sale on Municibid. The consent agenda included approval of Jan. 21 meeting minutes, ratification of $331,968.66 in bill payments, and a $2,000 performing-artist agreement for Shakespeare in Clark Park.
Board Chair Scott Lambert called the meeting to order and adjourned at 8:30 p.m. No votes in this meeting were recorded as split; all listed motions passed unanimously.
