The New Germany City Council on July 16 approved a $5,900 quote from Henning’s to repair a catch basin on Black Forest Road, with an additional $1,100 if the drain tile is connected. Councilmember Lorn Hermann presented the quote and the council approved using the street maintenance repair fund to pay for the work; the motion carried, 5-0.
At the same meeting the council approved its consent agenda, which included adoption of the June 18 minutes, payment of claims, financial reports, and several resolutions: Resolution 2024-09 (LG555 Relief Association donation of $10,000 to the fire truck/building capital fund), Resolution 2024-12 (LG555 Relief Association donation of $4,000 to parks capital), Resolution 2024-10 (appointing 2024 primary judges), and Resolution 2024-11 (approving using Black Forest Hilda/62nd Street for manhole repairs). The consent agenda was approved 5-0.
Other governance items approved included an amendment to Resolution 2024-01 (organization summary) naming Kevin Grove acting mayor and assigning personnel roles, and adoption of an updated ESST policy; both motions carried unanimously. The council also handled routine building and zoning permit notes and scheduled budget meetings.
