Long Prairie council approves project payments, hires job‑classification review and tables personnel and property decisions

At its Nov. 6 meeting the Long Prairie City Council approved several administrative and financial items in addition to a land‑use decision. The council voted unanimously to pay Application #15 for the CSAH 56 & CSAH 38 improvement project, $344,050.15 to C&L Excavating Inc., and to pay an invoice to Braun Intertec for $7,636.50. Both motions carried without objection.
Administrator Ted Gray presented a proposal from David Drown Associates to review and update job classification and compensation services. Council members agreed the work was needed and approved proceeding through the firm’s four‑option structure, taking the project step by step.
On personnel and property matters, Mayor Jodi Dixon moved and Council member David Wright seconded to table acceptance of a resignation letter from Lateshia Harden; the council also tabled a decision on the requested sale of 390 9th St NE and asked the prospective buyer, Jamie Flan, to attend the next meeting to present intentions. The council heard committee reports including public works, EDA and public safety updates and received a road‑project update from Bolton & Menk noting paving concerns on County 38 and associated city streets are still being addressed.
