Later, Medardo Monzon (1014 Magnolia Woods Court) spoke about remarks he said were made about his spouse at the prior commission meeting. He accused Commissioner Askew of making a "public defamatory statement" and of issuing "a thinly disguised threat," and said the prior statement was presented as fact rather than opinion. Monzon said he has filed a report with the police department regarding those prior comments and asked the commissioner to cease the behavior and to issue a public apology.
The commission acknowledged the comments and the mayor indicated staff would discuss the traffic‑calming request; Monzon also asked that his submitted statement be included in the meeting minutes. No formal disciplinary action or agenda item resolving the complaint was taken at that meeting.
