Somerton board welcomes new Sun Valley principal Paloma Peralta Carrillo

During the June 23 special meeting the Somerton Elementary District governing board formally welcomed Paloma Peralta Carrillo as the new principal of Sun Valley Elementary.
Board members offered congratulations and brief remarks about the principal's engagement with the community. Peralta introduced herself to the board and thanked the district administration and governing board for the opportunity: “I am super excited to be part of the team,” she said, noting she looks forward to learning alongside Sun Valley staff.
Board President Juan Castillo and the superintendent offered words of welcome and support. The welcome was part of the consent/appointment portion of the meeting; Peralta's introduction was followed by routine agenda business.
