The Somerton Elementary District governing board adopted its fiscal year 2026–27 budget at a special meeting Tuesday, voting by voice to approve the plan that staff said is unchanged from the proposal the board approved on June 9.
A district staff member presenting the item told the board, “Again, nothing has changed from the proposal,” and referenced an attached presentation that contains the budget numbers. Board members offered no substantive amendments before a motion to adopt carried by voice vote.
Board President Juan Castillo confirmed the motion and the board recorded the approval without further debate. Staff said the budget materials were included with the agenda packet for members to review and that any detailed questions could be directed to district business staff.
The adoption completes the board’s procedural step to finalize the district budget for FY 2026–27; the administration said it will proceed with implementation consistent with the adopted document and follow normal reporting requirements.
