The Maquoketa City Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously approved the Final Plat of the Bluffs at Prairie Creek 3rd Addition at its Jan. 7 meeting.
City Manager Joshua Boldt explained the plat revision, which replats lots five through eight of the earlier 2nd Addition into the 3rd Addition, includes the dedication of new public utility easements as shown on the revised plat and abandons previously dedicated utility easements located within the original lots. Commissioner Beck moved for approval; Commissioner Mangler seconded, and the motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.
The commission’s action accepts the plat and the easement changes for recordation. Any subsequent implementation (installation of utilities, street work, or building permits) will proceed under the usual city review and permitting processes.
Next step: the approved plat will be processed through the city's recording and permitting channels as appropriate.
