Council hears park funding amendment, approves advertising revised park fees; county transit deviated‑route study discussed

Mayor Chad Frank read into the record a first amendment to the Park Board of Trustees agreement that adds the River's Edge project to the original playground agreement. Separately, Trish Dearth‑Atkins from the Union County Council on Aging reported on Union County Transit, which serves Union, Wayne and Fayette counties. She said 41% of trips were in Fayette County and described planning discussions with INDOT about studying a deviated route — a route similar to a fixed route but able to pick up or drop off passengers within a specified distance from stops — and noted the study would determine how many vehicles the route/loop would require.

Council members congratulated the Lady Spartans on their season and then adjourned the meeting by unanimous motion.
