The Winthrop City Council on June 6, 2026 adopted Ordinance #232, which amends Chapter 92, Section 92.02 of the city code to revise water rates. Mayor Gerald Dennie called the meeting to order and the council opened a public hearing on the ordinance; no oral or written comments were received.
Council Member Ann Myers moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance #232; Council Member Jim Loughren seconded the motion. The council subsequently voted to waive the second and third readings and then approved the ordinance. Each motion was recorded as carrying with all ayes.
The ordinance text included in the meeting packet notes that a complete copy is available at the City Clerk’s Office, 354 W Madison, Winthrop, IA 50682, Monday–Thursday 8:00 A.M.–2:00 P.M. The ordinance states it will take effect after final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
