Winfield council approves payout of accrued comp time and vacation and directs handbook changes

The council approved paying out 93.5 hours of comp time and 58 hours of vacation in a unanimous vote (motion by Jennifer Lemke, second Brandy Smith).
Angie Oepping will update the employee handbook to reference a 90-hour ceiling on comp time accrual and will review whether changes are needed for the vacation policy; proposed handbook changes will be presented at the December council meeting.
The action provided immediate compensation to the employee and initiated a policy review to limit future comp accruals.
