Council delays decision on 17.5-acre parcel after executive-session motion

The Taylor Town Council on Jan. 2 moved to an executive-session discussion about a possible purchase of parcel 202-23-101A, a 17.5-acre site near State Route 77 and 19th South, then voted to table any purchase decision for further consideration at a later meeting.
Councilmember Kris Neff moved to adjourn to executive session under A.R.S. 38-431-03(A)(7) to discuss potential acquisition of the parcel; Councilmember Bill Baldwin seconded and the motion passed. During open discussion before tabling, Councilmember Jason Brubaker said the parcel “has potential value to us, and we want to consider more time on where it would be best for the town.”
On a subsequent motion by Councilmember Lynn Dewitt, seconded by Councilmember April Williams, the council voted to table the executive-session matter and revisit the potential purchase at a future meeting. No authorization to purchase or to expend funds was recorded in the meeting minutes.
The council did not provide additional financial terms during the Jan. 2 meeting. The motion to adjourn to executive session and the later motion to table were both recorded as passing unanimously in the minutes.
